This year’s Miss Universe 2012 pageant is going to be held on December 19, 2012 at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Just last week, Planet Hollywood became very busy and overwhelmed in welcoming all of the beautiful ladies coming from different countries of the world. The atmosphere in the venue was very light, welcoming and very beautiful.

The 89 stunning contestants coming from different countries and vying for the title of Miss Universe 2012 winner were officially welcomed at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casio on Thursday evening of December 6th. The contestants did not come all at once because there were contestants who came early while others came on the said date that they should be for their schedule of rehearsals and photo shoots.

David Hoenemeyer, the Regional President of Planet Hollywood resort and Casino, and Paula Shugart, the President of the Miss Universe Organization, both welcomed the contestants and officially launched the start of the Miss Universe competition. The week-long competition began with a fashion show that featured the 89 gorgeous and stunning women from all over the world.

They looked absolutely dazzling when they paraded the runway wearing their smiles and tantalizing eyes. Co-hosting the ceremony was Comedian/Writer Nick Teplitz and reigning Miss Universe Leila Lopes. Miss Lopes also introduced each contestant and their native country individually. You could have seen the pride and confidence in the smiles of the Miss Universe 2012 contestants. You could hardly tell who will win in the pageant. Other activities will also be held in the days to come before the big event. You may watch Miss Universe 2012 live online on December 19. It will also be telecast live on NBC and Telemundo at 8pm (PT).

The Miss Universe 2012 will be broadcasted on a delayed telecast on December 20, 2012. Janine Mari Tugonon is the representative of Philippines in this prestigious event. We are hoping for the 3-peat this year as Ma. Venus Raj and Shamcey Supsup manage to place in the Top 5 in 2010 and 2011, respectively.

He is a true hero. When he smiled at Marquez and shook his hands, after his defeat, I see a strength of a character of a true champion. A man with great heart.
